Hello Redsky fans!  Brandon here to tell you that we're gearing up for a Kickstarter for Tyler Jae Gamba's awesome debut novel, Arise. Arise is the first full-length novel set in the Redsky universe, and there's more to come. You got the ebook if you backed the Redsky Core Book campaign, and now you can get Arise in hardcover, paperback, or audiobook if this project is successful!

The Redsky Core Book is being delivered

The first copies of the Redsky Core Book arrived on some backers' doorsteps today! Thank you to all of our backers for taking this journey with us.

If you're in the northeastern US, you may get your book today or tomorrow! Other US backers should start getting their copies next week! International shipping times are harder to predict, but they are on their way as well. When you get your copy, we'd love it if you tag us on social media or post about it on the Discord!

The Eldertech bundles took a little longer to get moving due to the logistics of getting all the extra goodies in place, but they started being shipped today as well. 

Reminder to Overseer Backers

Overseer-level backers should note that, as we have previously stated, it will take another couple weeks for you to get your special edition bundles. Why? Because we need to pick them up from the warehouse and sign them! The team will be signing the Overseer Editions on February 11th and they should start being shipped the following week.

Shoutout to Romain Kurdi

We discovered an unfortunate error in the Core Book that we need to rectify. Our portrait artist, Romain Kurdi, was omitted from the book's credits. We apologize to him and you all for this mistake, which will be rectified in future PDF and print copies. 

You should check out Romain's ArtStation for more of his incredible work. If you are a fellow content creator, we cannot recommend him highly enough.

Some Minor Details

Stay tuned for updates on our next adventure: Escape from the Red Desert. Our character sheet is officially available on Roll20, so you can fire up a Redsky adventure there any time! More updates about Foundry VTT will be forthcoming, and we plan to make our first adventure Into the Shieldwoods available on VTT platforms as we work on our integrations.

Important Information: Just About Ready to Ship!

Hi Backers!

We're expecting the books to finally arrive at our distribution warehouse next week! Tomorrow, we will be charging shipping costs. As previously mentioned, we had to increase the cost of shipping to US customers by $1 due to the weight of the book being greater than expected. The rates are as follows:

$11 for US backers, $25-40 for international backers depending on your country (most countries are $30 or less). If you got the Eldertech or Overseer bundles, add $5 to that shipping cost. 

You have a few more days to change your address on Backerkit. After we charge the cards tomorrow, we will be sending out an address confirmation email. You will be able to use the link in the email to change your address if necessary, or you can log in to Backerkit using your Kickstarter account information to change it now. 

Soon you'll have the Redsky Core Book in your hands!

The Books are Stateside! Shipping, VTT Updates, a New Adventure, and a New Team Member

Hey everyone, Alex here with the latest update for you about the current state of Redsky's delivery and VTT development.

We appreciate your patience over the last month as the books made their long voyage across the Pacific.

We're very excited to report:

The Books are Stateside!

We received a confirmation that they arrived in the port of Los Angeles on January 7th. Next, they will be loaded onto trucks bound for New Jersey, where Solar Studios' fulfillment provider Fulfillrite is based.

The books should arrive in Fulfillrite's hands sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. All standard copies of the Redsky Core Book will ship to the front doors of US backers using USPS media mail, 2-10 days thereafter.

So if you live in the US and you backed at Eldertech Tier or lower, you can expect the book on your front door in roughly 3-4 weeks!

International backers will have to wait a bit longer, since international shipping will take a bit longer than shipping within the US, depending on where you live.

Finally, Overseer edition backers -- those who are set to receive signed Overseer edition copies of the Redsky Core Book -- will have to wait an extra 1-2 weeks. This extra time is for us to receive and transport the special edition copies from Fulfillrite, organize a team get together to sign all of the special edition copies, and then to return them to Fulfillrite for final delivery.

Roll20 Character Sheets!

In other news, we're happy to announce that Redsky's Roll20 character sheet is finished and will soon be available on the platform within 2 weeks!

The initial plan was for a fully original custom sheet, but ultimately that idea was scrapped because we can deliver a modified version of the official 5e sheet to you much faster! Our version has additional space for custom Redsky attributes such as Touch AC and the Social Score, as well as the custom Redsky skills and other tweaks.

As for other VTTs: work on integrating Redsky with Foundry and Shard are next on our VTT roadmap. We will be developing a module for Foundry rather than a full system. The goal is to have characters in Foundry that have our distinct rules enabled (Touch AC, Social Score, Armor protection and weaknesses). This will also be possible in Shard via custom stat block attributes. In both these cases, the modifications will be laid on top of the core 5e ruleset for each respective system.

A New Adventure and a New Team Member!

We're happy to announce that Redsky 5e's 2nd adventure, Escape the Red Desert, is on track to be completed soon, and will be available next month (February). It will feature vehicle mechanics as players sail Featherfolk sand ships known as shiseli across the perilous hellscape of the Red Desert. 

Redsky 5e's 1st adventure, Into the Shieldwoods, has been thoroughly tweaked since the last playtest. It's an open world adventure that really lets Redsky's environment and survival rules shine.

Kickstarter backers will receive Into the Shieldwoods for free.  For non-backers, it's available for purchase on our store.

Last but not least, we are very proud to announce that Solar Studios will soon have a sixth member! Sarah will be joining the team to help us with marketing and social media. She will be assisting with post-launch outreach, advertising, and social media for Redsky 5e and for all our future projects!

Preview Copies Have Arrived, the Books are Printed!

The Books have been Printed!

Hi everybody, Brandon here. It's been a long time coming, but I finally received an advance copy of the Redsky Core Book this week! 

The Core Book is ready to ship from the printer to our warehouse, where it will ship to you! It's going to take 6-7 weeks to arrive, but we're in the home stretch. Soon you will have this gorgeous book in your hands.

There's also been movement on the Virtual Tabletop front. A custom character sheet is being developed for Roll20 and soon it will be available for anyone to use.

Some final news: due to the heavy, high quality paper we used for this book, as well as the page count, it ended up being more than a half pound heavier than our estimates. 

 Due to the extra weight, we'll be increasing our shipping charges by $1. We'll be charging for shipping in December when we lock orders for the final time.
